Day Thirteen in England - Wimbledon!

Heyy Mommy,
Today was incredible. Alix and I woke up at the crack of dawn and we went to Wimbledon with Unkie Dave, Auntie Sue, and their friends Heather and Bret. We were about in the middle of "the queue" (English for line lol.) It was a bit chilly at first, but then it warmed right up. The line didn't really start moving until after Alix and I had been reduced to playing card games like War or Go Fish. Even then, it was stop and go for a while. After 4 and a half hours of waiting, we were inside the gates of Wimbledon! I'd seen it many times on tv, and finally I was there. I couldn't contain my excitement.
The first match we watched was between Hiroyasu Ehara and Denis Kudla. I thought Ehara was pretty amazing with his asian awesomeness, but we didn't stay to watch the end of the match because there was so much to see. There were a couple of courts welcome to people who didn't buy tickets in advance, although I didn't know very many of the players. The real big tennis stars were playing in the center court, like Venus Willams, Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, etc. There was a giant screen that projected those matches and you could watch them from a nearby hillside. We wandered from court to court and found one we liked. Sadly, we had to wait in, yet another, queue. It took about an hour for us to get seats...

... but it was totally worth it to see Jelena Jankovic and Melanie Oudin play. They were both awesome, but Jankovic had a bit of an attitude problem. I was glad that Melanie Oudin won. She played very well. I also got some great action shots!

The next match we watched was Amelie Mauresmo and Flavia Pennetta. Mauresmo was really having a hard time just getting her serve down. It was very frustrating, so we got up and left.

Exhausted, we met up with Heather and Bret again and went back to their flat for a barbeque. The food was awesome and Alix and I took a short nap while we were there. I realize now that I should've put sunscreen on my face because my nose and cheeks are a little sun kissed.

Well, I love and miss you :)
I'll write tomorrow!
